If you never felt pain,
how would you know that I’m a Healer?
If you never went through difficulties,
how would you know that I’m a Deliverer?
If you never had a trial,
how could you call yourself an overcomer?
If you never had sadness,
how would you know that I’m a Comforter?
If you never made a mistake,
how would you know that I’m a Forgiver?
If you knew all,
how would you know that I will answer your questions?
If you were never in trouble,
how would you know that I will come to your rescue?
If you were never broken,
how would you know that I can make you whole?
If you never had a problem,
how would you know that I can solve them?
If you never had any suffering,
how would you know what Jesus went through?
If you never went through the fire,
how would you become pure?
If I gave you all things,
how would you appreciate them?
If I never correct you,
how would you know I love you?
If you had all the power,
how would you learn to depend on Me?
If your life were perfect,
what would you need Me to do?
*Pokrov is a traditional Christian celebration established by the Russian Orthodox Church, and is symbolizing the transition from autumn to winter. Pokrov can be interpreted as "Intercession".
In the Christian tradition, there is a belief, that in October 14 (October 1 in the old style) The Virgin Mary had spread her omophorion over the city that was in trouble, over the nation, which had no other hope left but the Queen of Heaven. And she showed her intercession to them.
Before the advent of Christianity, this day celebrates the meeting of autumn with winter. The advent of the first snow, which covered the earth, pointed to the proximity of the winter cold. This day is also associated with the beginning of the girls' get-togethers in the evenings, as well as autumn wedding season. This day was considered a purely feminine. Exactly in this day, people were gathering "heat" for the whole winter in order to overcome a sad, gloomy and melancholy mood that could appear due to the lack of sunny days.
The participants of our meeting will held several ceremonies dedicated to this day:
Besides the rites, we offer conversations and reflections on the theme of women's issues. How the woman was seen in the tradition of our ancestors?
What role was assigned to a woman?
Who is Starica? Witch? Vedunja? Povituha?
… and much more.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,Some early manuscripts body that I may boast but have not love, I gain nothing.
